Como – Meath Care

A bed, mattress, and room accessories refurbishment across the Michael Lee Centre, Meath Care’s residential aged care facility in Como, WA.

The Michael Lee Centre is situated in the leafy surrounds of Como, adjacent to Collier Park Golf Course. Built across two levels and divided into four care areas, each with single bedrooms and private ensuites, the centre is designed around a home-like model of care. Residents have access to a cafe, hairdressing salon, manicured gardens, and secure outdoor areas, with on-site registered nurses, allied health, and a leisure program supporting day-to-day wellbeing.

The brief covered every resident room, requiring fully adjustable beds, pressure care mattresses, bedside furniture, and a complete bedding package, with all products selected to complement the centre’s home-like interior aesthetic.

Meath Care required a supplier able to deliver a consistent, coordinated refurbishment across the full centre without disrupting an active care environment. The priority was upgrading beds, mattresses, and room furnishings to a standard that matched the quality and presentation of the facility while meeting clinical requirements across a mixed-acuity resident population.

Impulse 400 beds in single configuration were supplied throughout the centre, giving the care team full electric adjustability – backrest, knee break, hi-lo height range, and pre-set hoist and transfer positions – in a clean residential frame suited to the centre’s room aesthetic.

Mobilising hand rails were fitted to each bed to support safer transfers and resident independence, with padded rail covers added to reduce injury risk without compromising room presentation. Viscorelax Sure multi-zone foam mattresses were specified across all rooms, providing consistent pressure redistribution through multi-zone profiling and a viscoelastic comfort layer, with the waterproof antimicrobial Sanitized PU cover meeting the hygiene and infection control requirements of an accredited aged care facility.

Bedside cabinets were supplied and coordinated across rooms to provide residents with practical, accessible storage that sat consistently within the refurbished room environment. A full bedding package including pillows and mattress protectors was supplied to complete each room, ensuring Meath Care had everything needed for a ready-to-occupy finish across the centre.
